Planters Peanut Guy - Mr. Peanuts is his name. And, in case you live in a little hole, this is what he looks like:

The Tommy Lee Jones scowl - Looks a little like this:

Hitler and Mussolini - Mussolini, the ruler of Italy, was supposed to help Hitler conquer the world, but his army was good for defending Italy... and that's about it. But, he did help Hitler invade France. Hitler bombed France for a couple days before it surrendered. You can find pictures of Hitler under/around the Eifel Tower. As my history teacher says, "Eerie."

Steve Randle - Mentioned in chapter one. Steve Randle was Sodapop's best friend, rather unpleasant. A better reference for Jess might have been Darry, who is actually from New York, but - as was said in the first chapter - Jess get's the Steve Randle reference because Tom Cruise played him in the movie.

Soc - The shorthand version of "Socials". I read it as "Sosche", as opposed to "Sock." Anywho, the Soc's are the rich upperclass and the antagonists of The Outsiders. The protagonists were the Greasers. (Jess, season four: definite Greaser hair.) If you've read the The Outsiders, you can appreciate the irony of the Greasers being the protagonists.

The Invisible Man - A novel by H. G. Wells, not to be confused with Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison (which Cadenza informed me of). If you're into symbalism, you can look at it as Jess wanting to be Griffen: angry and invisible. Otherwise, the book just delves into the pysche of a desperate, apathetic, angry, perhaps psychotic scientist-turned-murderer.

Speedy Gonzalez - A Looney Tunes character. A brown, Mexican mouse who often taunted Sylvester (a cat) and then sped away. He was very fast runner. It was a very Tom & Jerry-type part of the Looney Tunes. (For those unfamiliar with Tom & Jerry, Tom was the little mouse, Jerry the cat, and they played cat and mouse... and the mouse always won.)
